ROME – The Rome police commissioner has issued 16 Daspo orders against as many ultras from Rome, Lazio and Naples, already reported in the last two years for violations related to the apology of fascism on the occasion of the commemoration of Acca Larentia.
The individuals affected by the measure come not only from the Capital, but also from other Italian provinces, including Milan, Naples, Salerno, Caserta and Avellino. Three of the measures issued will have a duration of six years, with the addition of the obligation to sign at the Police Offices. The other 13 Daspos were issued for periods of between one and two years.
The investigations do not stop here: the Police Headquarters is evaluating the position of over 200 people involved in crimes such as drugs, fights, violence and street incidents, including the clashes that occurred last January 11 in San Lorenzo. The adoption of the so-called Daspo “out of context” – which does not require the commission of violent acts in sports – could lead to new sanctions.
The aim is to remove elements considered dangerous from the curves, ensuring a safer environment for true fans. Since the beginning of the current championship, measures have already been adopted 186 Daspo, while the Roma sports club has issued 20 measures of dissatisfaction against sanctioned fans.
