Master artist Domenico Sepe's solo exhibition, titled "Etere. Tra forma e svelazione," will be on view at the Gaetano Filangieri Civic Museum in Naples from February 8 to March 1, 2025. Curated by Lorena Cangiano, Giuseppina Iacovelli, and Anna Pia Secondulfo, the exhibition takes its name from a new art catalog that summarizes Sepe's work.

A Journey Between Past and Present

The exhibition, organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Naples and the Metropolitan City of Naples, creates a bridge between the contemporary and the historical. Sepe's sculptures dialogue with the masterpieces kept in the Filangieri Museum, including works by Francesco Jerace, Tito Angelini, Jusepe de Ribera, Luca Giordano and Battistello Caracciolo.

Program and Collaborations

The event will begin on February 8th at 17:00 PM with the presentation of the catalog "Etere. Tra forma e svelazione," with a preface by art historian Isabella Valente. Speakers include Art History professor Maria Simonetta De Marinis. A performance by Maria Pagano, curated by Sepe himself, will follow. This opening will kick off a rich program of meetings and events.

A Second Catalogue and Photographs

The exhibition will also include the presentation of another art catalog, "Domenico Sepe al servizio segreto di Bond, James Bond," edited by Michelangelo Iossa, scheduled for February 24th at 12:00 PM. The works will be accompanied by photographs by Gianluigi Sperindeo, who immortalize Sepe's unfired clay sculptures. Sepe's exhibition offers a profound connection between the museum's historic works and contemporary art, celebrating Naples' cultural heritage through the universal language of art.

I read the article about the Domenico Sepe exhibition and it seems very interesting. The sculptures dialogue with historical works, but I'm not sure if there will be many visitors. It will be interesting to see how the past meets the present.
