Naples - "Young people, all young people, not just those in at-risk neighborhoods, need beauty as a guiding star."
This is the statement of Don Antonio Loffredo, longtime parish priest of the Sanità neighborhood of Naples, where he created a model of redemption. Speaking in Naples at the presentation of the Photoansa book, he spoke of the work done to "open the doors of a neighborhood," giving life and form to the vision of his predecessor, Don Peppe Rassello.
When he arrived in 2001, he explained, "only one thing was clear to me: this neighborhood had great potential, with great possibilities for development."

Starting from the observation that the age of young people involved in news stories is increasingly decreasing, Father Loffredo said that this work must continue "everywhere because young people are now excluded from everything; they are beyond respect, beyond school, beyond their parents."
"And these kids have only one opportunity to connect with us," he continued, "through culture, music, and sports. It's what humanity needs because we're not fattened animals; we need something else to feed ourselves with in life." Finally, he talked about the drama currently being produced that tells his story. In the drama, the priest is called Giuseppe, like Don Peppe, who dreamed of an open neighborhood.
