Naples – Extraordinary checks continue State Police in Scampia to combat drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
During an operation conducted by officers from the Scampia Police Station, two men aged 21 and 54 were arrested for illicit drug possession.
The intervention took place in via Fellini, where the police noticed a young man who, after having taken something from a borsello hidden behind a Wall, he handed it over to an individual in exchange for a banknote.
The buyer then quickly walked away, but the officers intervened immediately, stopping the 21-year-old. The search led to the discovery of 52 euros in small denomination banknotes and, inside the purse, 10 cartons of hashish and 5 wraps of marijuana.
Shortly after, in the same neighborhood, officers caught another man making a similar exchange. The 54-year-old, stopped by policepolice, was found in possession of 12 packages of cocaine and 43 euros, presumably the proceeds of drug dealing.
Both individuals were arrested and will be charged with illegal possession of narcotics. Control operations in the neighborhood will continue in the coming days to combat drug dealing.

The situation in Scampia is very worrying, but the police checks are a positive thing. We hope that these interventions will lead to concrete results in fighting drug trafficking and illegality in general.
