The new Eav station of Benevento Appia on the Benevento-Cancello line is taking shape. As announced by the Ente Autonomo Volturno itself, the presentation is scheduled for March 10 at 12:XNUMX, while it is specified that "the main commitment of Eav is to avoid time delays that could postpone the reopening of the new network".
"Unfortunately - the transport company explains - there is no shortage of accidents along the way. On February 12, at the Eav station in San Felice a Cancello, yet another barbaric episode occurred: the Shelter cabin that contained the signal transmission and reception equipment for the railway network under construction was completely vandalized and stolen in order to recover materials, such as copper, useful for subsequent resale".
As the Ente Autonomo Volturno also recalls, "the responsibility for monitoring the construction site falls to the contractor, who obviously had already implemented deterrent measures in the past to ensure that such incidents would never happen again, but unfortunately, to date the damage is calculated at 300 thousand euros.
Beyond the purely economic issues, the most serious repercussion, which penalizes even more, are the times needed to procure materials – which constitute the Shelter – not all of which are available on the market”. According to what the Eav note says, Hitachi declares: “We are evaluating the impact on the testing program. However, I ask you to evaluate support actions also on your part to protect us with respect to episodes that go beyond any reasonable prediction”.
“With a view to achieving the shared objective – the latest considerations of the company – Eav asks for the support of all the municipalities affected by the Naples-Benevento railway network in order to raise awareness and/or activate any action aimed at solving the problem”.
