Falciano del Massico – An unexploded device dating back to the Second World War was found this morning on the slopes of Mount Massico, in the Olivone area, in the municipality of Falciano del Massico.
The discovery was made by a hiker who, noticing a partially buried metal cylinder with features that could be traced back to a military projectile, immediately alerted 112.

On the spot were attended by i Carabinieri of the Territorial Department of Mondragone, who took steps to secure the area, delimiting it and preventing access for security reasons.
In the meantime, the military of the Falciano del Massico Station have activated the procedures for the recovery of the device, requesting the intervention of the Army bomb disposal experts to clear the area.
