Benevento – “Since this morning, the workers of Hanon System Italia in Benevento, a Korean company operating in the automotive sector, have been on permanent stand-off in front of the gates of their factory”.

Samuele Lodi, national secretary, communicated this in a note Fiom-Cgil and Ciro D'Alessio, national automotive coordinator for Fiom-Cgil, who explain that "the action of struggle was made necessary following the company's communication to close the site and thus fire sixty workers".

“The closure of Hanon System represents yet another tragedy foretold,” the unionists continue. “The lack of investment by the owners, the lack of policies for reconversion towards new technologies in the field of energy transition, are the real cause of the closure of the Benevento site.”

“The company must immediately retrace its steps regarding the closure and start a process with the trade unions that includes, in addition to the use of social safety nets useful for managing the difficulties of the phase, an investment plan aimed at relaunching the Benevento site”, conclude Lodi and D'Alessio.

It's a pity that Hanon System decided to close the factory, so many workers are in trouble now. I hope there is a way to review this decision before it's too late for everyone.
