A van speeding along the A1 motorway was stopped by the Caserta Highway Police, leading to the arrest of two men accused of transporting narcotics.
The vehicle attracted the attention of the officers after it suddenly slowed down at the sight of a patrol car, prompting the officers to proceed with a check.

The van was stopped near the municipality of Pignataro Maggiore. During the search, officers discovered a plastic panel on the vehicle's dashboard, behind which were hidden two blocks of cocaine weighing a total of almost 2 kilos.

The two couriers, already known to law enforcement for previous firearms offences, were transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where they will remain pending the validation of their arrest. The officers' timely intervention foiled the attempted trafficking.
