Analyzing the images from the surveillance cameras, the operators noticed the presence of some individuals intent on tampering with the emergency door and immediately activated the alarm with voice synthesis, thus managing to scare away the criminals. At the same time, the police were alerted and, having arrived on site and carried out the first surveys, they found that the glass of the emergency door was damaged.

“The promptness of the intervention – the note reads – confirms that Poste Italiane's money custody systems are decidedly cutting-edge, so much so that in the last year 55% of the criminal events attempted in Italy were foiled.

This result was possible thanks to the company's investments in protection and security, which have allowed, for example, to equip all 243 post offices in Naples and the province with cash protection devices, including special timed-opening safes, and to activate 929 counters equipped with RollerCash, special safes connected to the operating stations whose drawers can only be opened at the conclusion of an operation".

Poste Italiane, furthermore, has provided for the post offices of Naples and the province "the introduction of numerous armed surveillance services and the presence of closed circuit video surveillance systems consisting of 1872 cameras which, in addition to monitoring possible nocturnal intrusions into the premises of Poste Italiane and contributing to the identification of potential robbers, allow, through sophisticated predictive video analysis software, to automatically recognize suspicious behavior and potential attacks on ATMs, triggering a request for intervention to the police in real time".

“Once again, Poste Italiane’s commitment – the note concludes – to guarantee increasingly higher security standards, to protect people and company assets, the provision of technologically advanced security systems and close collaboration with law enforcement have allowed us to effectively counteract predatory attacks”.
