Grazzanise– A 59-year-old local man was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company and the local Station, during a house search that led to the discovery of a veritable arsenal.
The operation, which began this morning, February 17, resulted in the seizure of three pistols, ammunition and bladed weapons, as well as counterfeit banknotes. The man, already known to the police for weapons-related crimes, was placed under house arrest and reported for illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, as well as for possession of counterfeit currency.
The check and the search
It all started at 7.00:XNUMX this morning, when the military noticed the man driving a Fiat Idea on Via Cesare Battisti, in Grazzanise. Given his previous illegal activity, the Carabinieri decided to follow him to subject him to a police check.
Once he reached his home, the man was stopped and searched.

The discovery of weapons and counterfeit banknotes
The personal, vehicle and house search uncovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition. Even before the house search began, the man spontaneously handed over an 8 caliber pistol, Bruni brand, model 315, with a modified barrel, along with 5 6,35 caliber cartridges and another 5 9 caliber short.
Subsequently, in the bedroom, the Carabinieri – supported by a canine unit from Sarno with the dog Athos, trained to search for weapons – found a second 6,35 caliber pistol, without a brand but in perfect working order.
A third pistol was found in the kitchen, this time a blank gun, Bruni brand, calibre 8, with a red cap, together with a calibre 9 magazine, a 41 cm long homemade dagger (with a 24 cm blade), two folding knives and two counterfeit banknotes, one 100 euro and one 50 euro.
The man was immediately arrested and placed under house arrest. In addition to the crimes related to the illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, he was also reported for the possession of counterfeit banknotes. The Carabinieri operation has therefore brought to light a dangerous arsenal, avoiding potential risks to public safety. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain any links with other illicit activities.

It's incredible how some people can keep such a large arsenal at home. I wonder how it is possible that no one notices these things before. I hope the authorities do a good job in controlling the situation.
