The Campania Provincial Museum in Capua is launching a project to increase inclusiveness and accessibility, transforming it into a major cultural center for the region. The Province of Caserta, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and through funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aims to enhance the museum's heritage by making it more welcoming to all visitors.
### The training
Museo Campano has started a training cycle for its staff, oriented towards accessibility. This program is designed to overcome existing barriers and offer an obstacle-free museum experience. Participants deepen the techniques necessary to meet the different needs of the public through specific meetings and workshops.
### The project
At the heart of the initiative are the museum professionals, whose professional development aims to offer more personalized services. Particular attention is paid to visitors with sensory and cognitive disabilities. According to the President of the Province, the investment in training is strategic to improve the reception and broaden the museum's audience, making it a focal point for local culture and tourism.
The museum director confirms that work has been underway for some time to eliminate barriers to the enjoyment of heritage, reiterating the importance of this training course to offer a more meaningful visit to a diverse audience. The barrier removal project is supported by the measure “M1C3 Investment 1.2” of the Next Generation EU program.
