Two companies in the Vesuvius area have been investigated for environmental violations. Edilfer of Torre Annunziata and the Miranda company of Striano were involved in inspections conducted by the Carabinieri Ecological Operations Unit (NOE), on behalf of the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office.
Seizure of assets
The Carabinieri carried out the preventive seizure of a metal carpentry business, a municipal ecological island and a polystyrene and plastic derivatives production business. The investigators contested crimes such as unauthorized waste management, illegal discharge of industrial waste and unauthorized atmospheric emissions.
Investigations ongoing
The investigations, carried out by the NOE of Naples, revealed that Edilfer srl, based in Torre Annunziata, and the individual firm Miranda Vincenzo, located in Striano, operated in violation of environmental regulations.
