A Different Look at Medea
The show offers a new analysis of the figure of Medea. In the classics, this figure is often depicted as a ruthless witch, eager to avenge her betrayed honor. Through the words of Euripides, the audience knows the darkest and bloodiest side of Medea.
An inner journey
Once the Medea that the myth has made famous has been shown, the show invites spectators to a more intimate and profound journey. The protagonist leads us to a symbolic place, a cave where the real Medea can reveal herself, finally stripping off the mask imposed on her by myths and legends. This space represents a safe refuge where Medea dies to the fable to be reborn to her authentic interior life, in a process similar to that of a mollusk that leaves its shell.
