ISCHIA – A flurry of checks by the Carabinieri of the Ischia Company, who in recent days have intensified surveillance in the commercial port of the island and Procida.
The balance is significant: 167 people identified, 116 vehicles checked and 11 fines for violations of the Highway Code. But the most alarming episode concerns three minors, reported for the dangerous throwing of stones from the viewpoint of via Salita Castello. Three boys, one of and two 16 year olds, were reported after launching stones from the lookout in the direction of the village of Corricella, endangering passers-by. The alarm was raised after a report to the Carabinieri operations center, which immediately began investigations.
Thanks to 'CCTV camera analysis, the military ascertained the responsibility of the three young people, all students and belonging to wealthy families.

Also in Procida, the Carabinieri reported three people for unauthorized waste managementThe three were stopped in via Vittorio Emanuele while they were transporting, on board a truck, waste building materials, furnishings and electronic equipment, without the necessary authorizations. The vehicle was seized.
In Ischia, however, he ended up in handcuffs Christian Iacono, 28 years old, already known to the police, arrested in commercial port for drug possession and resisting a public official. The young man, just disembarked from a hydrofoil from Naples, attempted to evade the controls by quickly moving away. This behavior aroused the suspicion of the military, who chased him and stopped him after a brief struggle. Searched, he was found in possession of 10 doses of cocaine and heroin, hidden in the sleeves of the jacket, in addition to a 16cm long folding knife.
During the operation, two Carabinieri reported injuries, with respective prognoses of 7 and 5 days. The arrested person was transferred to the barracks pending the orders of the judicial authorities. The situation in Ischia and Procida seems to be very worrying with all these checks by the Carabinieri. I hope that the police can continue to guarantee safety for residents and tourists. The boys involved in throwing stones should be more responsible.
