In two days, more than 38 thousand euros have been collected on GoFundMe for little Azzurra, a nine-year-old girl from Forio, on the island of Ischia, who will face an experimental treatment in Mexico.
The island community immediately joined the appeal launched by the father, Gennaro D'Ambra: donations have already reached more than eight hundred.
"Our daughter Azzurra," her father writes, "is trapped in a body that doesn't respond to her, but her eyes speak: they ask to live, to hope. There is a treatment that could help her, but the cost is enormous, and we can't do it alone."
“Let's not leave her without hope.

The experimental treatment consists of regenerating brain tissue through electromagnetic waves. A month-long therapy that could help the little girl, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
The family will fly to Monterrey at the end of March, to the NeuroCytonix clinic. The cost of the treatment is 35 thousand euros, to which must be added the travel and accommodation expenses for a month for the whole family.
If successful, Azzurra will have to face four more, always at the same price. Her father has specified that in case the therapy does not have the desired effects, he will donate the rest of the money collected to charity.
