Marcianise - "The withdrawal of the layoffs is a victory for the workers, but the discussions at Confindustria (Italian employers' federation) now open a whole new phase: the company is withdrawing the layoffs but proposing the sale of the plant."
This is what Usb has to say about the Jabil dispute, following today's meeting at Confindustria Caserta, during which the company, USB continues, made it known "that it is no longer interested in layoffs: today's objective for Jabil becomes 'selling' the plant through the procedure provided for by art. 47 of law 428/1990.
The poisoned meatball is then served on the plate."

For the Unione sindacale di base, "what Jabil is doing is 'giving in' to the layoffs, because we are certain that the industrial outcome of this dispute, if left in the hands of TME, will become an inexorable abyss both for jobs and for the mountain of public money that Invitalia wants to guarantee."
For USB, a business sale "must occur only and exclusively within a framework guaranteed by the institutions," which is why it is asking the government to intervene "either directly by taking control of the plant or by seeking a credible industrial solution."
