Another tragedy has occurred near Castelguelfo Castle, in the hamlet of Noceto, in the province of Parma. Lorenzo Rovagnati, CEO of the eponymous cured meats company, lost his life on the evening of February 5th when the helicopter he was traveling in crashed into land near the ancient castle.
His death puts the spotlight back on a place shrouded in mystery. For years, in fact, the castle has been at the center of legends and disturbing coincidences that fuel the hypothesis of a curse.
On January 12, 1992, another entrepreneur linked to the manor, Giacomo Bonati, then 49 years old and president of Raggio di Sole, lost his life in a tragic road accident. Driving his Ferrari, Bonati was traveling along a road near the castle when, after overtaking, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a plane tree, dying instantly.

At the time, Bonati was the owner of the historic residence, which later passed to the family Rovagnati, strongly desired by the founder Paolo Rovagnati, who passed away in 2008. After him, it was Lorenzo who took care of it, until the tragic epilogue.
