Naples - A night of intensified security checks in the historic center and northern neighborhoods of the Campania capital. The Carabinieri have increased their presence in the area, following recent directives from the Prefecture.
The operations report includes arrests for drug dealing, reports for various crimes and numerous removal orders.
Pusher arrested with pepper spray
The operation started from Piazza Bellini, the beating heart of Neapolitan nightlife, where a 28-year-old of Gambian origin was arrested for drug dealing. The young man was caught by the military of the Naples Central Operations Unit while he was selling hashish and cocaine to a 31-year-old tourist and a Neapolitan minor.
On his person, in addition to 45 grams of hashish and 5 grams of cocaine, he also had a canister of pepper spray and cash, believed to be illicit proceeds. The man was transferred to prison, awaiting trial.
Fight against illegal parking attendants and predatory crimes
During the checks, five illegal parking attendants were reported between the city center and the Chiaia neighborhood.

Arrests in the suburbs
The patrols of the Carabinieri of the Stella Company monitored Scampia, Secondigliano and San Pietro a Patierno. In this last neighborhood, the military arrested a 70-year-old, recipient of a prison order issued by the Court of Appeal of Naples: he will have to serve 10 years and 6 months for criminal association aimed at dealing and receiving stolen goods.
Also in the northern neighborhoods, a 21-year-old was reported for illegal possession of weapons: a 9-centimeter-long knife was found in his pocket.
The Carabinieri of the Vomero Company executed two judicial orders in the neighborhoods of Capodimonte and Marianella. The first concerned a 35-year-old Neapolitan, while the second affected a 73-year-old, sentenced to 5 years and 9 months of imprisonment for crimes against the person.
The operations will continue in the coming days to ensure greater safety on the city's streets
