Naples – From Marriott to Hilton, passing through Rocco Forte and Radisson: the largest hotel companies in the world choose to invest in the city of Naples. In the coming months, in fact, between acquisitions of iconic hotels and new and highly anticipated openings, 5-Star luxury will become a distinctive brand of the Naples destination.
If the new hotel of the American multinational Marriott will be built in the building on Via Verdi that once housed the headquarters of the Banca di Roma, the ultra luxury of the English Rocco Forte will land on the Riviera di Chiaia, in the Caravita Palace of Sirignano.
If the Britannique on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Palazzo Caracciolo on Via Carbonara and the Oriente on Via Armando Diaz become Hilton-branded structures, the Radisson group would be preparing to inaugurate the new hotel housed in the historic headquarters of the Il Mattino newspaper on Via Chiatamone.
Million-dollar investments, enriched by the opening of new restaurants that aspire to a Michelin star or suggestive rooftops that combine breathtaking views with exclusive service. The future of the most famous luxury brands also passes through Naples, with the large multinational hotel companies ready to bet on the city.
The luxury tourism segment will be one of the main topics discussed in Naples at BMT (13-15 March 2025), the most important trade fair in the sector in Central and Southern Italy, which will dedicate one of its conference events to “Naples Luxury Destination”.
“The city is finally appealing to quality tourism,” explains Angioletto De Negri, patron of Progecta, which has been organizing the Mediterranean Tourism Exchange in Naples for 28 years, “and it is thanks to the tenacity of entrepreneurs.
Progecta has always supported and assisted them: our conference “Napoli Luxury Destination” will highlight the city’s new vocation as a luxury tourism destination, offering institutions a platform of proposals to prepare themselves to best face what will be the great challenge of the coming years: managing the current tourist flows without being overwhelmed by them.
The negative effects of overtourism, such as the progressive wear and tear of cities, a proliferation of the underground, with a war on illegality that must pass from sanctioning the structures without CIN (the National Identification Code, ed.), must be mitigated, regulated with targeted policies. The new luxury vocation is certainly an opportunity to be seized to start a path oriented towards progress, for the well-being of all: citizens and tourists, of all budgets".
