A violent brawl broke out yesterday evening in Piazza Bellini, in the centre of Naples, where three German tourists were attacked with glass bottles from a group of presumably local people.
The most serious conditions concern one of the three, hospitalized in red code at the Cardarelli hospital with a lacerated-bruised wound to the throat and in a reserved prognosis. A second tourist was transported to Pellegrini, where he was discharged with a 30-day prognosis for a blunt trauma to the face, while the third refused treatment.
I Carabinieri of the Naples Center Company are investigating to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack and identify those responsible.
In a separate episode, in the late yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of the mobile radio unit intervened in via PoerioIn the neighborhood San Lorenzo, for a 35 year old man of Algerian nationality, stabbed in the chest.

The man, without a regular residence permit and already known to the police, was admitted to Pellegrini in non-critical conditions. Investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

It is a very sad fact what happened in Piazza Bellini, violence should never be a solution. I hope that the authorities can find those responsible and that the tourists can recover quickly from their injuries.
