The Building Protection Department of the Naples Local Police conducted an intervention in the Pisani district, in the western part of the city, known for being a site with archaeological restrictions.
The operation focused on unauthorized construction activities carried out by the manager of the area on Via Gennaro Villani. Officers identified the presence of industrial flooring and water collection infrastructure on approximately 2000 square meters of agricultural land.

Additionally, two structures, divided into boxes, were constructed, covering a total area of approximately 300 square meters. These works were carried out without the approval of the Superintendency and without the necessary authorizations.
Following the investigation, the entire area was placed under precautionary seizure. The person responsible for the illegal construction was reported to the competent judicial authority, thus initiating proceedings to clarify the violations of current building and archaeological regulations.

It is important for local police to intervene in unauthorized construction situations, but I wonder if there has been enough information provided to the community about the archaeological constraints in the area. Communication is key to avoiding such issues.
