Heavy-handedness of the local police Napoli during checks on compliance with the new Highway Code carried out yesterday evening.
The Local Police officers, working in Piazza Poderico, Via Medina, Via dell'Epomeo and in the Chiaia and Fuorigrotta neighborhoods, issued 86 reports for various violations including lack of insurance coverage, failure to use a seat belt, driving without a license or with a license of a different category, use of a cell phone while driving, failure to have the vehicle inspected.
The reports issued resulted in the following additional sanctions: 9 vehicles suspended from circulation, 14 subjected to administrative detention, 8 driving licenses withdrawn with 6 subjects reported to the AG for repeating the crime.
Also in the Chiaia district. From checks carried out on taxis and NCCs several disputes arose which led to 3 suspended licenses and 2 taxi licenses withdrawn.
