Napoli Udinese, Conte: “Scudetto? Let’s think about getting points for Europe, let’s not race against Inter…”

Napoli coach Antonio Conte analyzed the 1-1 draw against Udinese, highlighting his regret for not having made the most of the opportunities created: “The difficulties of the match were not capitalizing on important opportunities. We made the mistake of letting Udinese get back into the game immediately after our goal”, he declared to Dazn microphones.

The Italian coach defended his tactical choices and the changes made in the second half: “In the 70th minute I tried to give new energy with the substitutions. I had the possibility to make five changes and I took advantage of them. It’s a shame, because we deserved more”. Analyzing the team's performance, Conte underlined: “We created a lot in the first half, we had control of the game and we shot more on goal. However, chances must be capitalized. The draw is fair, against an opponent with physical and interesting players. However, we were good at limiting their counterattacks”.

Finally, the coach wanted to highlight the importance of the team's path: “We have to look at ourselves. It's a missed opportunity in terms of Europe, but not to increase the gap on Inter. We are really doing something extraordinary and we must not confuse reality. The boys are giving everything, today they left the field exhausted. This is the ninth consecutive useful result: trust me, we are doing something extraordinary”, concluded Conte.
