The mobility revolution begins in Torre Annunziata. The municipal administration strengthens road controls with the introduction of Autoscan Capture, the sophisticated electronic monitoring system nicknamed “Hawk Eye”, designed to identify violations of the Highway Code in real time.
The device, mounted on Local Police patrol cars, is able to automatically detect vehicles without insurance or MOT, as well as reporting those parked in illegal areas.
Thanks to a high-definition camera with a 360-degree view, the system recognizes license plates of cars parked in double rows, at pedestrian crossings, in front of driveways and in spaces reserved for disabled people.
The councilor for traffic Tania Sorrentino underlines the importance of the initiative: “This tool will allow us to combat the phenomenon of wild parking, improving safety and traffic flow in the city”.
More officers on the streets and new hires
The Mayor Corrado Cuccurullo announced that the service will start on a trial basis from mid-February for a duration of three months. The goal is to make it permanent after the budget is approved.
At the same time, the Municipality has launched a plan to strengthen the Police Corps Municipal police, led by Major Giovanni Forgione. Eight new agents have already entered service, and another six will be added by the end of February, for a total of 14 new units. But the administration's commitment does not stop there: procedures are underway for the hiring of three additional agents, bringing the total staff to 41 units.
"We must ensure that the rules are respected and public order is restored. Safety and traffic remain a priority for this administration", concludes Mayor Cuccurullo.
