The fifth edition of Cinemagma, a festival dedicated to independent cinema, ended successfully at the Sala Molière of the Teatro ArtGarage in Pozzuoli. Directed by Giuseppe Borrone, the event took place from January 8th to February 5th.
Awards and Recognitions
The award for best short film was given to “Chello 'ncuollo” by Olga Torrico, appreciated for its ability to intertwine elements of fiction and documentary in an authentic tale of rural life. The jury, chaired by director Giovanni Dota and composed of personalities such as Miriam Candurro and Adele Pandolfi, gave a special mention to “La giustiziazione” by Alex Marano. Dino Porzio received the award for best actor for his performance in “Fatman” by Raffaele Patti, while Aurora Menenti was awarded as best actress for “Kore” by Fabiana Russo. The best editing award, dedicated to Raimondo Crociani, was won by Ivan Mazzone for “Arctichoke – A mermaid not a punk” by Salvatore Rocco.
Participation and Involvement
The audience played an active role, awarding the audience prize to “Fucking boobs e mani a terra” by Paolo Cipolletta. In four days of screenings, the festival was sold out, with 16 finalist short films presented. Cinemagma aims to support films outside of commercial circuits, offering a platform to reach cinephiles and enthusiasts, compared to the underground energy of Campi Flegrei that seeks to emerge in the visibility of the general public.
