Padula – The Municipal Council of Padula, led by Mayor Michela Cimuno, has approved, upon proposal by Tourism Councillor Antonio Fortunati, the adhesion of the Joe Petrosino House Museum to the Network of Italian Emigration Museums, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The decision aims to enhance the role of the Joe Petrosino House Museum as a point of reference for the historical memory of Italian emigration, particularly that to the United States, of which Petrosino himself was a protagonist.
Joining the network will allow the Padula museum to participate in national and international initiatives for the promotion of roots tourism, facilitating collaborations with other museum institutions and offering new opportunities for cultural and tourist development.

“Joining the network of Museums of Italian Emigration represents an important step to strengthen the bond between our community and Italians around the world,” said Mayor Michela Cimino. “Joe Petrosino is a symbol of integration and the fight for justice, and the museum dedicated to him is a fundamental piece of our cultural identity.”
The Joe Petrosino House Museum, located in the birthplace of the famous Italian-American policeman, houses documents, memorabilia and testimonies of his life and his investigative activity. With this membership, Padula strengthens its commitment to the enhancement of the historical memory of Italian emigration, opening up to new opportunities for exchange and growth in the international cultural panorama.
