The project took place in one of the region's most valuable natural areas, the Monti Lattari Regional Park, which is also classified as a Special Area of Conservation and a Site of Community Importance (SCI), part of the Natura 2000 network.
The man believed to be responsible for these unauthorized interventions has been charged by the Salerno prosecutor's office for the construction of the infrastructure that involved clearcutting the forest. Authorities emphasize the importance of protecting green spaces and preserving local ecosystems, especially in regions of high environmental value.
