Pontecagnano – This morning, on the Provincial Road 175 in the municipality of Pontecagnano, a 48-year-old woman was fatally struck by a Toyota while crossing the street on her bicycle.

The Vopi health workers intervened promptly on the scene of theaccident, but there was nothing that could be done for the victim: she died instantly. The driver of the car stopped immediately to provide assistance.
The Municipal Police has started investigations to clarify the dynamics of the incident.

I am very sorry for the woman who died. It is bad to see accidents like this. The road should be safer for cyclists and people in general. I hope something can be done.
It is truly tragic what happened, but I hope that the investigation can clarify how this accident happened. Too often we hear about similar accidents on the roads.
