The cultural association CineHeart ets of Rome has announced the sixth edition of the Una Storia Per Il Cinema Award, an innovative competition that transforms short stories into film productions. Registration is open until March 31, 2025.
A Bridge between Literature and Cinema
The event welcomes different narrative forms, including screenplays and biographies, without genre restrictions, with the aim of uniting literature and cinema and offering new platforms to emerging authors. The prizes include the possibility of developing a feature film or series, as well as creating audiobooks and participating in screenwriting courses.
Past Successes
Previous editions have seen the creation of successful projects such as “Cani di strada” and “Colpevole”, the latter awarded at the Berlin Indie Film Festival 2024. “A mamma non piace” is instead waiting to be distributed in cinemas.
Commitment and Collaboration
The competition benefits from the support of film industry professionals such as Federico Tocci, Massimo Bonetti and Gianni Leacche. Submissions for the UNA STORIA PER IL CINEMA Award are open until March 2025; further information is available on the official website of the competition.

This contest seems very interesting to me, but I am not sure if there are many participants or if it is a good opportunity for writers. I hope there will be many quality productions from this event.
