The association “Idee e Concretezza” pays homage to Santo Romano, a young man shot dead by a 17-year-old in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio on the night of November 2nd last year, for having defended a friend of his who had stepped on an expensive shoe.
This initiative is promoted by the president Salvatore Mautone of the Association “Idee e Concretezza”, together with the collaborators of the Association, and with the participation of the young Luigi Barbato with the collaboration of the artist “Gennaro Fioretti”, who will be committed to the creation of the Mural.
On the occasion of the event, the following will be invited: Mena De Mare, the mother of Santo Romano, the mayor of the municipality of Villaricca "Francesco Gaudieri", the authorities and institutions of the territory.
An awareness event to not forget who Santo Romano was. “An initiative - explains in a note the vice president Giulio De Rosa - that has the objective of saying 'Enough violence', to hope for a peaceful society and that murders of this kind, like that of Santo, never happen again. Murals which will be built in the school courtyard, thanks to the great support of the headmistress of the “Ada Negri” school Caterina Pennacchio.

It is important that a mural be made to remember Santo Romano, but I wonder if this will really help stop the violence. We hope that the event will bring awareness to young people and make them reflect on life and the choices they make.
