### A Bipartite Homage
The title of the new album is inspired by Ingmar Bergman's film "Cries and Whispers" and reflects its dual nature. The "Cries" section explores post-rock, metal, and shoegaze sounds, while "Whispers" focuses on neofolk atmospheres. This division reflects Prencipe's intention to blend classical and electric guitar, combining metal and experimental rock influences.
### Collaborations and Production
'Cries and Whispers' features ten previously unreleased tracks, a cover of Alcest's 'Souvenirs d'un autre monde' and a guitar reinterpretation of Erik Satie's 'Gnossienne n. 10'. Featured artists include Simone Salvatori and actress Maddalena Crippa. The cover art is by Indonesian photographer Hardijanto Budiman, known for his work on the band's previous album 'The Moon Is a Dry Bone'. Recording took place at Splash Studio in Naples, with mixing by Massimo Aluzzi and Andrea Cutillo. Mastering was handled by Graeme Durham of The Exchange Studio in London. Riccardo Prencipe leads a lineup of vocalists and musicians who further enrich the project's complex sound. Since its founding in Naples in 1, the band has carved out a significant space for itself within the independent music scene, expanding its influence beyond national borders, with a significant presence in Europe and Asia.
