Fifteen councilors of Capaccio resign, vote in spring

Fifteen city councilors of Capaccio-Paestum have resigned, decreeing the early dissolution of the City Council. Representatives of the majority, before notary Antonio Paolino, signed their resignations, pulling the plug on the administration.

The political life of the city of temples had been strongly influenced by the judicial affair that had overwhelmed the mayor Franco Alfieri, under arrest since October for an investigation into alleged rigged public administration tenders.

The Democratic Party representative, after having resigned on Monday, went to the City Hall today (after obtaining the judge's authorization) to finalize the deed, which initially lacked an authenticated signature and was therefore deemed invalid.

Now, after the resignation of the councilors, the Prefecture will appoint a prefectural commissioner who will lead the Municipality until the elections that will be held in the first available electoral window, probably as early as May.
