Weekend of February 22, 2025, numbers dropped in Roccaraso, the renowned ski resort of Alto Sangro.
After the excessive influx of tourists in January, with as many as 250 authorized buses, this time only 24 tourist vehicles have made reservations to visit the Abruzzo resort, despite favorable weather.
Local authorities, in collaboration with the Prefect of L'Aquila, Giancarlo Di Vincenzo, continue to implement restrictive measures to limit the influx of visitors.
Buses will have to access the Marsicana road 83, which marks the border between Castel di Sangro and Rioniero Sannitico, to reach state road 17 near the Hotel Institute, where passengers will be dropped off.

Over the past few weekends, the number of authorized buses has only served to demonstrate the decline in visitors: 40 buses had been authorized the previous weekend, a significantly lower number than the peaks in January, which had created traffic disruptions and public order.
However, the outlook remains bright with an expected turnout at the 70 ski resorts in the Alto Sangro area, where hundreds of visitors have already registered today.
Attention remains high in the coming days, with the hope of seeing significant numbers again in a tourist context that continues to change.

It's strange how bus numbers have dropped in such a short time, maybe people are afraid of not finding a seat or the climate is no longer as it was before. Let's hope that the turnout will increase again.
