Rome – A 20 year old young man, originally from the province of Caserta and of no fixed abode, was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Rome Ottavia station on charges of having committed three robberies in the month of January. The boy, already known to the police, allegedly hit a delivery man and two taxi drivers, threatening them with a gun and stealing their money and personal items.
In the first episode, the 20-year-old allegedly pointed a gun at a delivery driver, forcing him to hand over 60 euros, a watch, and a smartphone. On another occasion, after wearing a glove to conceal an object in his hand and confuse the victim, he allegedly threatened a taxi driver with the phrase: “Give me everything and get out of here,” making him hand over his daily takings of 300 euros and his cell phone. Finally, a third attack saw another taxi driver threatened with a semi-automatic pistol: the young man made him hand over 102 euros in cash, a credit card, and a smartphone.
The investigations, started immediately after the victims' complaints, allowed the Carabinieri to collect sufficient evidence to obtain an order for house arrest with an electronic bracelet. The measure, requested by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office and ordered by the investigating judge of the Rome Court, was carried out against the 20-year-old, now under house arrest in a municipality in the province of Caserta.
