Another case of drug trafficking inside the prison Salerno. A woman was arrested yesterday after being found in possession of approximately 100 grams of narcotics, including heroin, cocaine and crack. The drugs had been cleverly hidden in the private parts of an inmate, her accomplice, with whom the woman had had a conversation.
The prison police, led by commander Arancio, noticed a suspicious attitude between the two during the conversation. At the end of it, the officers searched the prisoner, finding the drugs that would have been sold inside the facility. The woman was immediately arrested and taken to the women's section of the same prison.
The Union of Penitentiary Police (USPP) expressed great concern about the incident, emphasizing that the drugs were intended for the internal market of the prison and not for the personal consumption of the inmate. "It is clear that the objective was to supply the internal market of the prison, fueling drug dealing among inmates," declared the president Giuseppe Moretti and the regional secretary Ciro Auricchio.
The Uspp praised the work of the penitentiary police officers, who operate daily with professionalism and dedication despite the difficulties related to the lack of personnel and overcrowding in prisons. "This is an operation of great importance, which demonstrates how, despite the difficulties, the Penitentiary Police continues to guarantee order and security within the structures", added the national secretary Giuseppe Del Sorbo.
