San Nicola la Strada - Drug dealing continues in the Largo Rotonda area of San Nicola la Strada. Law enforcement, and in particular the Carabinieri of the Caserta, they are intensifying controls to combat this phenomenon, but the pushers do not seem to be giving up.
Since the beginning of the year alone, there have already been ten arrests and charges filed for drug dealing and possession, a figure that testifies to the gravity of the situation. The latest incident dates back to yesterday afternoon, February 18th, when a 32-year-old Gambian man was arrested by Carabinieri officers while selling drugs to a buyer.
The drug dealer's modus operandi was now well-tested: after receiving the request, he would go to a hidden spot among the hedges of the square, where he had hidden a bag containing the drugs.

During the personal search, officers found and seized two bars of hashish weighing a total of 2,13 grams, a package containing a white powder—the nature of which is still being ascertained—and €15 in cash. The buyer, an Italian citizen, was reported to the Caserta Prefecture. The dealer, however, will be tried under a fast-track trial.
This latest arrest underscores the Carabinieri's commitment to combating drug dealing in this particularly sensitive area because, in addition to being a busy thoroughfare, it hosts a children's playground, two places of worship, and a school. The police's goal is clear: to restore the livability and safety of these spaces to the residents of San Nicola la Strada.
