A new seismic swarm affected the area of Campi Flegrei today starting at 07:12 UTC (06:12 local time), as communicated by the Vesuvius Observatory.
The event recorded a series of tremors, the strongest of which reached a magnitude of 2.2 and was felt in several neighborhoods of the city of Napoli.
The swarm included five significant shocks as of publication, with an average magnitude of 2.0±0.3. The strongest event occurred just after 7 a.m., drawing the attention of local residents.
Two more tremors were recorded late yesterday evening, with a magnitude of 1.2 and a magnitude of 1.7 shortly after 22pm.
