Naples – The mayor of Napoli, Gaetano Manfredi, intervened on the issue of Italian stadiums in view of the European 2032, underlining the need for a redevelopment plan which, to date, can only be achieved through private investments.
"It's clear that to be eligible for the European Championships, a massive redevelopment project is needed. Currently, this can only be achieved with private funding, as there is no public fund dedicated to stadiums.", declared Manfredi on the sidelines of the presentation of the Half Marathon.

The mayor of Naples then revealed that the Government is working on a possible solution: "We are considering creating a fund that could provide public support for the redevelopment of sports facilities." Manfredi's words come after the declarations of the president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, who, speaking about the stadiums nominated to host the matches of Euro 2032, did not mention the Maradona.
"I am in contact with the minister AbodeIf the government were to intervene with public funding, the implementation of these interventions would be facilitated.", added Manfredi, underlining how, at the moment, throughout Italy there are many ideas but few concrete projects.
