Following the strong 3.9 magnitude earthquake that struck at 15.30:XNUMX PM in the Gulf of Pozzuoli, in the Campi Flegrei area, the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, "immediately convened a meeting to monitor the situation."
The director of the INGV confirmed that the earthquake was particularly felt by the population as it occurred at a depth of only 3 km, the prefecture explains, reporting that the municipalities of Bacoli and Pozzuoli (the closest to the epicenter) "have activated the Municipal Operations Centers also for the purpose of an initial visual reconnaissance of the areas", furthermore "the mayor of Bacoli has reported a break in the water network in the Scalandrone area which the same institution is responding to".

"No reports of critical issues have been received from healthcare facilities at this time, although the tremor was clearly felt by patients at the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli and the San Paolo hospital in Naples," the prefecture added, concluding: "The traffic situation, especially regarding travel on the holiday, is being closely monitored."
