The Carabinieri of Treviso have recovered 40.000 euros stolen through fraud from elderly people using the technique of false accidents with the intermediation of false carabineer, a 55-year-old originally from Naples and temporarily domiciled in the province of Venice, who was reported.
The man was traced thanks to the analysis of video surveillance images, the monitoring of vehicle traffic, the acquisition of witness statements, and the examination of telephone records.

The suspect, driving a rental car, was responsible for at least two fraud incidents that occurred on the same day: in Zero Branco, where a 93-year-old woman handed over 200 euros in cash and several gold jewels, and in Treviso, where an 84-year-old woman was defrauded and robbed of 30.000 euros in cash and additional gold jewels.
The military searched the suspect's home where they recovered the stolen goods, whose total value is around 40.000 euros.
