Trentola Ducenta – A blitz by the Carabinieri led to the arrest of a young man of just 19 years old, found in possession of weapons and narcotics in his home. The operation was triggered following reports from residents, suspicious of the constant coming and going of people from the boy's apartment.
The local police station intervened, assisted by the anti-drug dog units of the Sarno Carabinieri Nucleus. At the sight of the police, the young man attempted to hide a heat-sealed bag in a cavity in the back wall of the house. The package, recovered immediately by the Carabinieri, contained 18 grams of cocaine.
Cornered, the 19-year-old then spontaneously handed over a dose of hashish and one of marijuana, declaring that he had nothing else. However, the search led to the discovery of an arsenal: inside a closet on the balcony of his bedroom, the military found a Bruni Mod. 92 caliber 9 blank pistol, without the red cap, with three cartridges.
In another closet in the same room, a Browning brand sawed-off shotgun was found, which was reported lost, along with five 20-gauge cartridges.
The search then continued in the basement, where another 156 12-gauge cartridges were discovered. All the material – drugs, weapons and ammunition – was seized.
The young man was arrested and placed under house arrest. He will have to answer to the charges of possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotics, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
