Vico Equense, scooter theft: two arrests, one already detained

Vico Equense - The Carabinieri of the Company of Sorrento they executed two custody orders in prison, issued by the GIP of the Court of Torre Annunziata, against two 24-year-olds seriously suspected of aggravated theft of a motorcycle.

One of the two was arrested in Torre Annunziata, while the other, already detained in Poggioreale prison for other crimes, was notified of the order inside the facility.

The facts date back to August 14, 2024, when the two, disguised and at night, took possession of a scooter parked on the street in Vico Equense, after having forced the ignition lock.

The investigations of the Carabinieri of the Vico Equense Station, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata, allowed them to reconstruct the dynamics of the theft and identify the scooter used by the criminals, which turned out to have been rented from a fictitious company.

The images from the municipal and private video surveillance systems, and the direct and indirect investigations, allowed the two 24-year-olds to be identified as the perpetrators of the theft.

The arrested man was taken to Poggioreale prison, where the other recipient of the precautionary measure is already being held.

It's incredible how young people can do such serious things as steal a motorcycle, especially in an area like Vico Equense. The investigations were conducted well and we hope that justice will take its course.
