ROME – A 19-year-old homeless man from the province of Naples was arrested three times in just four days for aggravated theft: the boy allegedly stole goods with a total value of approximately 355 euros from various shops located in the Termini train station and surrounding areas.
The incidents occurred on February 21, 22 and 24. On all three occasions, the 19-year-old was caught by store staff while he was taking and hiding the stolen goods from the shelves. Security personnel immediately alerted the Carabinieri of the Scalo Termini Unit and the Rome Company Piazza Dante, who arrested him red-handed and returned the goods to their rightful owners.
Despite repeated arrests, the young man continued to commit thefts, until the last intervention of the police. The episode highlights the need for more incisive measures to combat predatory crimes in sensitive areas of the capital.
