A celebration dedicated to the daily commitment for which each woman stands out in her work, with a single common thread: attention to social issues.
This is how the “Premio Donna” was understood, which took place in the council chamber of the Municipality of Pompeii, in the presence of the mayor Carmine Lo Sapio. An event that, on the occasion of International Women's Day, saw female figures as protagonists who received recognition for their merits related to social issues, journalism, entrepreneurship and cinema.
The event was hosted by journalist Barbara Castellani, who together with Mayor Lo Sapio welcomed the award winners: Rosanna Lambertucci (journalist and writer), Annamaria Grazia Langellotti (psychotherapist and contact person for the social cooperative “Rugiada”), Bianca Maria Caringi Lucibelli (president of Galà delle Margherite), Ermelinda Cuomo (mother superior general of the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Pompeii), Carmela Esposito (clerk of the Court of Nola), Giuseppina Lodovico (AU Givova), Giuliana Covella (journalist and writer), Annamaria (Ghedina journalist and writer).
Among those who awarded the prizes was also a promising young talent from the world of entertainment: 18-year-old Luigi Zeno – cousin of the famous actor Giuseppe Zeno – who is taking his first steps in the world of cinema and television, in parallel with his studies (he is in his fifth year of high school at a well-known Neapolitan institute).
Zeno, who was responsible for welcoming Demetra Hampton – an Italian-American actress and former model, who, as the godmother of the event, recalled her commitment to fighting violence against women – underlined, even though he was very young, the importance of training and an exhaustive course of study in the career of an actor and not only, which can provide each person with the culture necessary for conscious individual and professional growth.

The women's award event was very interesting, it highlighted women who do important things. But I don't know if it's right to give awards only to women, there are also men who do a lot for society and deserve equal recognition.
