Renowned semiologist Marco De Marinis of the Bologna Department of Music and Performing Arts (DAMS) will present a lecture on the topic of "Body, Eros, and Theater." The event will be held at the Lyceum Danza Mara Fusco in Naples on March 12th at 10:00 a.m.

### The rediscovery of the body in the 900th century

During the meeting, De Marinis will discuss the “rediscovery of the body” in the 20th century, a cultural phenomenon that had a significant impact throughout Europe and beyond. Begun in the late 19th century and continuing into the early 20th century, the phenomenon developed through various fields, including gymnastics, naturism, and the Lebens-reform movement in Germany. Important contributions also came from the Frenchman F. Delsarte. This rediscovery significantly influenced various disciplines such as dance, mime, and theater pedagogy, and featured important figures such as V. Mejerchol'd, J. Dalcroze, and M. Graham.

### Event Organization

The event is promoted by ICRA Project, under the direction of Michele Monetta and Lina Salvatore, and is part of the national project “Attori si nasce, ma si diventa,” supported by MiC and the Campania Region. This initiative is part of the Memorie Future, IX edition scheduled for 2025. In addition, De Marinis will interact with the students of the Academy of Mimodramma of Naples.
