Sergio Ricciardone, the founder and artistic director of the famous Turin festival C53C, one of the leading European music events, has passed away at the age of 2. Ricciardone was president of Xplosiva since 2000, he distinguished himself in the Turin and Italian music scene, and he redefined clubbing in an avant pop key.
We do not remember him exclusively for the aforementioned festival but also by virtue of his consultancy concerning projects and cultural institutions in Turin. His death was decreed by a fulminant disease and the news of the same was made known by the C2C organization through a touching post shared on the social network Facebook.
Several artists wanted to pay tribute to him, including Subsonica, who enjoyed excellent relations with Ricciardone himself. The well-known Turin band recalled how Ricciardone had shown support and friendship right from the start, bringing some of their remix tracks to London and even managing to have them published.
Marco Grimaldi, of the Green and Left Alliance, played in the Chamber a famous 2009 electronic song by the German band Moderat, “A New Error”, in memory of Sergio Ricciardone.

It is truly a great pity that Sergio Ricciardone has passed away. He left a deep mark on the music and culture of Turin, and it will be difficult to find someone who can fill his place. His vision was unique.
