The drug trafficking boss from Pianura Pasquale D'Anna, 34 years old, is the victim of the ambush that took place at dawn today in Piazzale Tecchio in Fuorigotta.
With him also his friend Massimo Aragiusto and he is 40 years old who was injured and is hospitalized at the San Paolo hospital, not in serious conditions. The hitmen, arrived near the Bellone bar, a place frequented also by young people returning from the movida and who stop for breakfast, was riding a high-powered motorbike and with his face covered by helmets.
Pasquale D'Anna and his bodyguard didn't even have time to understand what was happening before they found themselves hit by numerous bullets fired by the hitman sitting on the back seat of the motorbike.
There was a general stampede among the people present at the time of the ambush. The death of Pasquale D'Anna comes at a time of tension between criminal groups in the area, where law enforcement is acquiring images from public and private surveillance cameras to reconstruct the latest events. It has not yet been possible to hear the testimony of the injured man involved in the ambush.
D'Anna, known by the nickname “Oino”, was arrested in July 2022 during a large-scale operation that hit the two main Pianura clans, accused of being one of the main drug traffickers in the area.
However, shortly after, the Review Court had excluded the mafia aggravation for him, arguing that his drug dealing activity was “independent” and that he had even been the victim of extortion by the gangs. This decision had led to a lightening of the charges and the granting of house arrest, at the request of his lawyer, Antonio Rizzo.
According to the reconstruction of the Prosecutor's Office, D'Anna allegedly managed a thriving drug dealing area between 2020 and 2022, collaborating with the leaders of the Calone-Esposito-Marsicano cartel.
In October 2023, the first-instance sentence of two years and four months in prison and also release from house arrest arrived,
D'Anna's death now leaves many questions open, while investigations continue to clarify the dynamics of the incident. The Pianura neighborhood, already the scene of clashes between clans, is more than ever a powder keg where the clans of the new Camorra recruits are trying to make room for themselves with the old bosses in prison
