A 30-year-old man was injured in a shooting in Torre Annunziata. This is Carlo Scoppetta.
Rushed to the San Leonardo hospital in Castellammare di Stabia, the target of the hitmen reportedly suffered several wounds, including one to the groin. Initial investigations indicate that the wounds do not endanger the man's life. The case is being investigated by police, trying to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
The military with the ballistic surveys at the site of the ambush are also looking for public and private images useful for the investigation and are questioning some people.
The injured man belongs to a family well known in the criminal circles of Torre Annunziata and closely linked to the Gionta clan. The father of the 30-year-old injured man was killed in 2004 a few meters from Palazzo Fienga, a stronghold of the Valentini clan.
Angelo Scoppetta, 44 years old, was killed on September 30, 20024 together with Carlo Balzano, 40 years old, who was the real target of the ambush. Related to each other, Balzano had married Scoppetta's sister, they both lived in the degraded Penniniello district.
The super killer was sentenced to life in prison for that double homicide Umberto Onda who in 2005 also killed Angelo Scoppetta in the Penniniello district, brother of Angelo Scoppetta who was organizing to avenge his relatives.
