New life for Piazza Garibaldi: in the northern area of the historic Neapolitan square, new trees planted as part of the initiative “The Beautiful Square”, A draft public-private co-management aimed at making the area more welcoming for citizens and tourists.
The intervention, which aims to enhance the green spaces of the square while also improving its aesthetic appearance, is part of a broader urban redevelopment plan. In fact, planting is part of the green restoration program in the flowerbeds of the square, financed by the Metropolitan city Napoli.
“This intervention is part of a larger project to replant trees in the 'dimples' of the square”, has explained Vincenzo Santagada, City Councilor for Green. “Our goal is to enhance the city's green heritage, with a planting plan that involves all of Naples, divided into five lots that include all the neighborhoods”.

The planting intervention in Piazza Garibaldi seems interesting, but I don't know if it is enough to improve the situation. Urban redevelopment is important, but other things would also be needed, such as more spaces for citizens.
