Canada’s most wanted fugitive, Dave “Pic” Turmel, considered the most wanted fugitive in Canada, arrested in Rome.
Police have identified the 29-year-old drug trafficker after a year and a half of being on the run. Sentenced to life in prison, Turmel was the head of a Quebec criminal organization specializing in the sale of narcotics such as cocaine and methamphetamine.
Criminal Activity and Sentencing The organization led by Turmel used violence and intimidation to impose its hegemony over the drug market, facts that led to his conviction in November 2023.
The man will also have to serve a 10-year prison sentence for crimes of assault and personal injury committed with the use of weapons. Arrest operation Turmel was tracked down in Rome, in the Torre Angela neighborhood, inside a hospitality facility.
The alert was sent to the Italian authorities by the Interpol International Cooperation Service, and the operation was carried out around midnight. After a brief attempt to barricade himself, Turmel surrendered.
Several SIM cards, drugs and a diary with accounting figures were found in his possession. Turmel is currently in Regina Coeli prison awaiting extradition.

Turmel's arrest in Rome is news that makes you think about the extent of drug trafficking. It's incredible how a fugitive can remain hidden for so long. I hope justice takes its course.
